I have been to Bakersville one time and had the pleasure of visiting the Paffrath household. I got a brief tour of the town by Pfeiffer University soccer star Preston Paffrath and I must say, I was impressed by its quaint atmosphere and the friendliness of the Bakersville citizens. The best part, in my opinion, was Cane Creek. I was fascinated by all the stories Preston told me about the legendary trout caught in the creek. I didn't get a chance to fish in it, but one day maybe i will. Preston did an excellent job, and he should be the next Bakersville tour guide.

I just wanted to commend you for your continued good work with this web site. That the Bakersville area continues to be presented in such a nice and appealing way should be a great source of pride for its residents. For indeed, many small towns either do not have a web site, or if they do have one, they aren't necessarily attractively done. As I am currently in the process of writing a book on the area, I am sure I will find the videos helpful in terms of hopefully enabling me to be able to organize my thoughts and insights more cohesively. The Rhododendron Festival is an upcoming event I am looking forward to attending, and I hope to be able to bring along a friend or two to share some good times, as well as experience some of the most colorful and beautiful scenery to be found anywhere in the country during this time of year.
