| Is The Club In Turmoil? |
Comments:
I'll try again !
Bally, we seriously under-performed against you at our place last year, and I missed the match at Keyworth so I can't comment on that. Also, last year we had SERIOUS pre-season disruption from which we never really recovered. Lack of confidence and belief were the main reasons for us going down with you.
This year, new captain, and masses of activity behind the scenes. Seems to be paying off, but there's still (as with most clubs) the occasional problem relating to availability, selection, personality or self-interest. Some people are allergic to change ! Why can't some people realise that the Club comes before the individual ? All it takes is some co-operation and communication to make our Clubs as good as they can be. Your Club's website banter is the best around (who set it all up for you ?), but it doesn't seem to be reflected by your on-field performances. What's wrong ? I hear you've lost players over the years (haven't we all ?), but there must be more to it than that. Keyworth has a fine history, but what has the future got in store ? Where's the pride ? I may be way off beam here, but I'd just like to see Clubs making the best of what they've got.

Glad to see Bottesford hitting the site with some encouraging words. Where the hell did you get a team from, as last year you were pants !!. Good news on the Hucknall front is that our stiffs will be finished by then, so Pete Hardy & Kitch will be available. Perhaps the skipper could enlighten us on the return of Hong Kong Whitey. Get him and his kid to play instead of that rabbit Kingy and it should be game on. Yours, Keyworth Utd away somewhere 7th Sept. 2002.

I'm not a bad loser,as Fish's Bottesford will lay testament to,after they beat us a few weeks ago.But thats cos i'm a Fat 2nd Teamer, who along with half a dozen of his Stiff mates, did not do his absent colleagues justice that day.See you all on Sept 7,all will be made welcome...players and Suppoerters alike.(Cheap ale a'plenty)

Clearly, there is more entertainment served up in the Key when rain stops play, than on the Rec when it doesnt.
Does the fact that Bally made an early departure account for there being no reports of unprovoked beatings beign dished out in the Parish this week?
Where is the travelling circus heading this week?

You're right, I did call the game off on Saturday - if only you knew how much effort had gone into making it playable though. The thought of 'Preserving our average' couldn't have been further from my mind, as if we are to go back up this season it would be much more satisfying to go up as Champions rather than Runners Up. Therefore a crushing 20 pointer against you guys would've helped, as well as going some way to making up for our 2 dismal performances against you last year. Rained off twice against Keyworth this season! Some might say that the gods were against us.
Anyway, we (like you) made the most of the situation, 8 of the first team quaffing in The Windmill at Redmile from 2 till 7, and then the remainder joined us from 8 onwards in The Bull at Bottesford. Suffice to say I couldn't take it if we got rained off every weekend (nor would my underwear last as long as it should).
If we're still in the chase at the end of the season some of us may come down and support you against RR on September 7th - we know you can beat them if you try.
