We are considering becoming Foster Parents... This is exactly the type of thing that scares me... Once you choose to become a Foster Parent... Are you put under a microscope? What types of probrems are you inviting? As for your story...Keep the Faith and Keep up your fight.... Has anyone contacted the girl that made the allegations to see if maybe she has "cooled off" or has anyone contacted some of her friends to see if she has "bragged about the False lies that have caused you so much trouble? And is anyone ever going to talk to your Case workers that knew you and what that girl was behaving like when you had her living with you? Can't they be served anything by the court to get a statement from them? I Truely hate that this is happening to you and you children...They are your children and you can be proud for helping them achieve all that they have achieved (I'm sure sure you feel blessed to have them in your lives)...They are blessed to have had you for parents....And that other girl is lucky to have had you "care" for her for as long as you did!

They wonder why there is such a need for good foster parents. When will foster parents obtain any rights? Having been accused not by a child but a parent we were cleared. I can only imagine what would have happened if we were not. What happens to those who falsey accuse? Nothing !!!! We as foster parents are expected to take the accusations and accept and understand the reasons behind the accusation. Who will ever take into consideration the devistation and toll it takes on a family who is only trying to do a job no one else wants to do. Our prayers are with you. God will seek justice in the end.

I'm interested in having a page by state so we can compare our experiences with the same agencies. South Carolina DSS is out of control and continues to lose good foster parents because of their adverse attitude toward those of us who have had false allegations brought against us. We are in the process of adopting our 2 yr. old foster child, however, when this is finalized we want nothing ever to do with DSS again.

Linda - I just spent 2 hours - writing to ALL the Ohio Legislators that you have listed on your web site. good web site---i think it is time WE had a march on washington-to let the public know what goes on most of the time. all you hear about is when something bad happens---what about all the good we do in these kids' lives?? when a case worker says things about you and never even met you--this seems to be happening more and more. these kids will never be right--will i still be here to foster their kids????
