We had 2 kids that came at 8 months and 2 year. We had the sibs over 3 years when they were being abused and suspect molest on visits. I kept reporting and other people also reported things they saw. A known molester lived with the mother. She had had her kids taken away. They allowed her to be at visits. By this time they were almost 4 and 6. DFS wanted to move them saying I was against reunification. We fought it. They paid a doctor to go to court and say I was mentally ill. I had a lawyer and he asked what proof there was. The doctor said none and that there was nothing wrong with me. The caseworkers admitted to telling lies about me. Kids were moved anyway when the judge saw that the agency was not going to do anything to protect the children. They also went for immediate termination of parental rights and took the 3 younger sibs away. the county agency has blackballed us and stopped us from adopting by going to committee and telling them they had trouble with us as fosterparents. This was 9 years ago. Kids were finally adopted at the age of 10 and 12. We do not know where they are.

I'm not a foster parent and have never been accused. Thankfully. In my work I see parents who have, some of them falsely. I see the struggle that they go through to even learn their rights. I support your efforts to change a faulty system.

WE ALSO HAVE FALSE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST US . THEY ARE ALSO CONSIDERING OUR ADOPTION LICENSE.

i know what you are going thru. i am having to deal with floyd county dfacs. they have went as far as to condem my parents house to get me out. i am a single mother of two beautiful girls and i do not get child support and i can not afford a place of my own. hang in there and keep fighting like i am doing.

My husband and I have been foster parents for 14 years as of this month. I guess the thing that I can say about allegations is that you have a supporting significant other plus a family advocate if there is one in your area. Be prepared because the allegations will come sooner or later. There really needs to be changes in the allegation process. Some where along the line, we need to find someone who will listen to us foster parents.

Thank you for this informative and useful site. We have been foster carers for over ten years in Australia, and have also been involved in the investigation process of an allegation. Here, things seem no different - Guilty til proven innocent, but even then not shown this way on records. Just listed as "not substantiated". I am now in a position of training for other carers on this subject, and how to protect themselves from the allegation experience, if at all possible. Hope this helps to protect some from the harrowing experience it can be for all.

It CPS worker was'nt the child who i had a problem with it was the worker... i know what you're going through but the child i lost was my grand daughter... And that really shattered my heart...
