We moved from the state of Kansas in March of this year. I was what peole call, *a child of privatization"; when the state privatizised their foster care, adoption, JJA, and Family Pres. services. I have been a foster parent for 16 years,as a specialized foster home working with the most difficult " special needs" children: RAD especially. I started a group for foster parents United Foster Families for Children as the result of Privatization. I have testified before legislators, lead and private contractors, and was very adament about rights for lisenced foster families. I have made enemies with the dep. of SRS and KDHE, but have made hundreds of freinds form the foster/adoption arena. I was a family adovacate and as well as the Kansas only Foster Parent/Child Ombusdman. Many of my rules and regs. are similar to those from Michigan and California. Since my move from the state of Kansas, there has been a triumph party within the state, from these governmental agencies, and foster famiies have ben asking for my intervention with their cases. I am due in Ks. the week of June 8-15, especially to assist six families with false alligations against them. I am available for anyone who needs assistance in doing battle with SRS, DFS, DHR and other foster care agencies. I will post my story in the nearest future, for I have been accused of child abuse three time. Good news...... I have overcome and made stronger by the ordeal.

I have just read your commentary about your struggle with your foster home investigation and subsequent removal of your children. I need to sharethat I have listened to many stories very similar to yours. The story never gets easier, only harder to comprehend! I am the President of the Edmonton & District Family Support Association here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I have been the President for 10 years. The reason I remain president is because of people like you, foster parents, foster-to-adopt parents, adoptive parents and biological parents who are tormented by the horrific investigative process of the Childrens Authority(s). One of the avenues that may be helpful to you is to access your foster home file - - - there is likely information on your file that you have not been aprised of and it may prove to be helpful in your fight to have the children returned to your home. I have no idea what the legislation is in your state but here in the Province of Alberta, any individual can access their file through an Act called the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. In the past 7 days (one week) I have take on an additional 5 new cases, one bio grandparent, one adoptive parent and the rest foster parents who have been impacted by a foster home investigation. That is a frightening number of families considering we only have approximately 1700 families who foster here in Edmonto. It is our basic human right to face our accuser and to be innocent until proven guilty! Therefore you and your family are being denied your basic human rights.
