Hi neighbor! We have a common bond. I am the former Foster Parent Association President in Glynn County. I got involved two years ago in helping two foster families who have been falsely accused of abuse. One family had a former foster child make a accusation. this child made allegations all the time. the second family wanted to adopt a bi-racial child and the racist deputy direct didn't want them two. The deputy director trumped up false charges of child neglect to have the child removed. My home was also closed because we hired an attorney to help with the adoption of our bi-racial child. The agency said we weren't black enough to raise her. We were able to adopt, but no more foster children! We have fought this to the fedral level. The Office of Civil Rights did an investigation, however, they are just another atate agency protecting another. I would love to fill you in on all the details. Verdell Daniels left us high and dry. He is no support!

This is a very good webpage that you have created. It was very informative to me because at this time I'm going through a similiar situation and would like as much support and information on procedures to take with my allegations. I had a lawyer but found out that it would be very expensive to fight and administrative decision in court. I've contacted the state senator here in G.A., Regina Thomas. As of today she has not recieved a reply from DEFAC's administrators. My wife and I have been foster parents for almost 14 years. We have had over 125 children via foster care, hundreds more via day care. We have been investigated on bogus charges on the average of once a year. Once we stepped on the senior caseworkers toes, because he refused to do his job. We were forced to go through a full, formal hearing as DCFS was trying to revoke our license. We had to obtain an attorney, at over a $1,000, and fought them for almost two years! We love kids and that is why we fought them. It would have been much easier to quit. Do foster care because you love kids and be prepared for the worst. It will happen to you!
