My wife and I have been foster parents for 25 years, and like the lead story we were also told, "not if but when an allegation is made", and yes after 25 years it happenned. It almost destroyed our life. Why is it though, whenI want to find out about Foster Care sites, I type Foster Care in at 'Yahoo' and up come these caring sites such as this, and yet it is very hard to find anything near a supportive foster care site in Australia, especially South Australia. I have enjoyed reading everything on this site and will be back, congratulations on a great site.

I have read the storys and the things that people tell me. My cousin was a Foster parent and lost all 6 children becaue one of the babies took a tylonal. She was changing the diaper of another child and then is when he took it she freaked out and took him to the ER they called on her and they took all children away. I really want to become a Foster partent in Ohio but I am not sure where to go. If anyone know can you please help me.. Good luck to everyone..

my heart really goes out to anyone who tries to do their best for children and is falsely accused. i have never been a foster parent, though. rather ive been on the opposite side of the wall of social workers. my 6 day old son was snatched from me on the grounds that i was unfit, because years before, as a teenager, i had been in therapy (where the caseworker who coincidentally enough was in charge of my son's case, had been a practicum student, which is how they knew at all) after several months of phsycologists, lawyers, judges and social workers, the charges against me were dropped and my son returned. but the entire incident scarred me deeply. i would beg all of you to remember that the parents of some foster children you may take into your home may have been falsely accused too. when my son was in foster custody, i will never forget the first time i met his foster mother and she acted like i was trash. that was really hurtful to me, because i too, was guilty until proven innocent. so i ask you please, if youve been accused when you havent done anything wrong, then when you have children in your home temporarily, whose parents are trying to prove their own innocence. if you should ever happen to meet those parents, treat them as you would want to be treated

I agree CPS has to be stopped. They are like ravaging wolves preying on defenseless sheep. One foster parent told me she was afraid of them and what they were capable of and she did not want to lose her birth children so she does what they want because they have taken her sisters kids and never gave them back.
