Wow, what a horrible ordeal you have been, and by the sounds of it, still are, going through. I am in the beginning process of reviewing whether foster parenting is for me. I have five year old of my own and your story makes me think even harder on what I could stand to lose if an allegation against me was ever brought up. WOW! Hopefully, legislation will take this up as cause needing attention, otherwise, eventually the foster care system will not survive. And that would be sad for the 500,000 plus children in our country that need it, most of which cannot get a foster home right now. God Bless you and your family. I too wish the government would wake up and assist us with "our needs" as well as the childrens, when will they wake up and see that foster parents open, not only our homes, but our hearts, emotions and familys only to discover this type of ridicule and pain!! I have been a foster parent for 7 years, and had over 30 children, and I have several small allegations made, all to be unfounded!! Thank the Dear Lord!! and my heart goes out to each and everyone of you out there. I just think its time that Foster Parents had an agency on their side, to assist with things like this. If one could organize such a thing, maybe like a support group with maybe one or two attorneys, to be our support.. something on the line of Foster Parent Allegations Commitee!!! If nothing more to support people with their allegations!! BUt thinking moe on a line of a legal assistance, to help an protect us!!! I know when my husband and I went thru these petty allegations, (nothing compared to these on here) I felt abandoned but when I had thier children, I was their best friend.. I'm an attorney, foster parent and adoptive parent who's defended mny foster parents facing allegations. I've read several pages of your guest book and it seems very familiar... the expressions of shock, betrayal and indignation. "I'll pray for you" is a common refrain, but let's face it folks, God helps those who help themselves and I've never seen foster parents ban together in any effective way to change the system. We're all in this alone, I'm sorry to say.

This is one of my favorite foster care sites. I was reading the story from Connecticut-my home state. We live in New York now. My story is listed under New York. It will be very interesting to see if Hilary Clinton gets into the senate here. She claims how she did alot of child care work with agencies in New Haven. So, if she's a senator in my new state, I will look forward to bugging her about how bad New York is. I was surprised to read how they did not get back to that woman in Waterbury. Funny, if Lieberman gets to be vice pres, I hope the whole state bugs him about these issues. He helped us get justice in Ct. Will the laws ever change??? Again, I thank Linda for being here to let me vent-when some idiot says her case workers are so fantastic. I look forward to seeing her letter posted here.
