My wife's grandfather, Henry Chambers, was raised in Dolton on a farm owned by his great aunts during the latter part of the 19th century. We'll be visiting this coming May with our son to show him where his roots began and have a pint at the Royal Oak.
The very best of the holidays,
Don and Carol

In August I put in a note about my
article on Liverton House (see
Dolton Devon or Dolton Roots) asking
if anybody would kindly send me a
photograph of the house and a
close-up of its name.
I am delighted to say that Roger
Dunn has seen my plea, and provided
what I requested, so that these
pictures can now appear at the head
of my article. I am most grateful
to Roger.

What a splendid and unexpected site about the finest village in the land! I love Dolton and have many happy memories. My aut Pat Webber (nee Corby) ran the village post office for many years and I still go back quite regulary. There is so much going on and a real sense of community. Perhaps you should consider adding an events diary!

Another enjoyable holiday spent at Dolton caravan park. Excellent service from the village store and butcher. A warm and friendly welcome at the Rams Head, where we had an excellent meal. We shall return next year. Many Thanks for the hospitality.
Marion Len.
