Love the locks!!! Wow! Right now, I have a little over an inch of natural hair and about 10-12 inches of permed hair; yes, 10-12 inches! But, I'm getting ready for sisterlocks! Yeah! My appointment has been set for a month from now. I am super excited but worried about the short stage (once I cut of all of my ends). I have been encouraged by your journey. Your 4-5 year year locks are amazing. Patience! Wow!

Sandy, your site is a true inspiration. I have thought about locking my hair for years and now I'm ready to do it. I learned at a very early age that chemical relaxers are harmful and unhealthy. I have worn my hair natural (with various braided styles) for well over 12 years now and everytime it came to picking a new style I would become SO frustrated at my options. I say NO MORE!! Its time for locks. Thank you Sandy, reading this site has helped me in ways you can't imagine.

I ran across your site via Nappturality and was reading your article "The Truth About Relaxers" It was very informative.
And who said black women's hair doesn't grow?! You sisterlocks are beautiful! I've been natural for 6 months now and your site serves as an inspiration for me to loc one day.
Peace and blessings,
Nikki

Hey Sandy. You look fantastic. I am in the process of removing my "oh so silky" weave, because . . . "I'm ready." At least I thought I was. . . Got scared...started to sweat... looked at your photos and . . . I'M READY !!!
Thank you for your sharing.

Hey, just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your blog. What a great history of the journey you've made over the last 6 years! My sister told me about Sisterlocks. She is having her hair locked in a week or so. I'd never heard of it. Unfortunately, I'm a creamy crack addict. I hate putting that stuff in my hair and only do so 3-4 times a year. I have long hair and as much as I'd love to go natural the thought of starting over is a bit discouraging. I look forward to seeing my sister's progress and I will check your site for new updates! Blessings!!!!

Thank you so much for all of the work you put into sharing your journey with us. It's sharing sistahs like you (with websites, blogs, etc.) that have been my major source in the decision to get SLs. I have a sample locking appt on 11/14/06 and I just can't wait. Thank you so very much! BTW, you and the SL are simply gorgeous (an understatement really!)!

I love your hair. I want to get Sister locked. I have been natural for 3 years and 5 months since my the last time I used the creamy crack. I have been wearing it breaded, hidden under a wig, and two strand twisted. But I want the sister locks. My husband has locks. One day my hair issues will be gone. I know my husband wats that. Smile! Thanks for the inspiriation!!!
