BACK IN 1981, MY FRIENDS AND I RENTED A SUMMER HOUSE AT THE NEW JERSEY SHORE. ONE OF THE HOUSE OCCUPANTS BROUGHT DOWN SEVERAL GAMES, INCLUDING EYE GUESS. ONE WEEKEND WE CAME BACK TO THE HOUSE AND FOUND THE BOX HOLDING THE GAME PIECES, WITH BILL'S PICTURE HANGING ON THE WALL. WE LEFT IT THERE AND REC'D SEVERAL QUIZICAL LOOKS FROM GUESTS. I THEN SENT A LETTER TO BILL REQUESTING AN AUTOGRAPHED PICTURE TO BE USED AS A PRIZE IN A BILL CULLEN LOOK-A-LIKE CONTEST. TWO WEEKS LATER I REC'D HIS RESPONSE WITH THE PICTURE AND A NOTE FROM HIM SAYING THAT WOULD THE PERSON WHO LOOKS LIKE HIM ACTUALLY BE CALLED A WINNER. THE CONTEST WAS A GREAT DRUNKEN SUCCESS. JUST YESTERDAY WHILE AT A WEDDING, I REC'D A PICTURE OF BILL FROM WHAT LOOKS LIKE HE WAS IN HIS 40'S. THIS WAS ACTUALLY A GIFT FROM THE BRIDE AND GROOM. THIS WAS IN ADDITION TO RECEIVING A BILL CULLEN DOING MINSTERAL SONGS ALBUM A FEW YEARS AGO. ANYBODY CAN BE A BEATLES OR ELVIS FAN, BUT MY FRIENDS AN I FEEL LIKE WE ARE PART OF SOMETHING SPECIAL, THE BILL CULLEN ADMIRATIOIN SOCIETY.

I never really knew who Bill Cullen was until I got into game shows while I was in fifth grade. Yet I never really saw Bill Cullen on TV until I watched the hit show "Blockbusters" on GSN when my cable company picked it up. I tell you what: Bill Cullen was a great host. So sorry to find out that 11 years ago, he lost his battle with cancer.

When at age 10, a new game show premiered in 1966--Eye Guess & it was so rightfully fitting that Bill would be the host. I never missed it during the summer or during school holidays. What ticked me off was that the show had a 25 minue time slot instead of 30 minutes cuz of those 5 minute news breaks!!!Hated that with a passion.

Wasn't Bill the host of the kids show, Engineer Bill? This must have been in the late 50's or early 60's. I remember Engineer bill in his stripped outfit and big (train)Engineers hat. Joel

No question, Bill was at his best from 1966-1969 on Eye Guess. I remember going out of my way to see that show every weekday when I was home from school during summer vacation. By the way, someone had an old Eye Guess game on Ebay sometime back, and described it this way: "Game appears to be in good condition...all pieces present. I bought it because the guy on the front box looks like Drew Carey."

I remember my childhood very well,but I don't exactly recall the actual the dates/times.I had a pleasant time watching C.P(CBS),H.P.(NBC),and last,but not least...The Joker's Wild! B.C.was one of my favorite TV stars of all time.I swell and choke up...when I look at pictures of him.It reminds me of my early existance and where I came from.I miss the man's charm and wit.He will always be my childhood hero. BILL CULLEN IS THE BEST!!There should be more people like him. The End.
