I for a long time have been trying to find info on my favorite game show emcee's. I was really excited to find a site such as this. I am now 28, but as a child growing up Bill Cullen was one of my favorite emcee's to watch on game shows. The others being; Jack Barry, Gene Rayburn, Richard Dawson, Wink Martindale, Bob Barker and Bob Eubanks. There were so many I enjoyed really but Bill Cullen always was one of them who stood out for me. I loved watching Child's play, Blockbusters and Hot Potato. I soon found out as I got older how much of a history Bill Cullen really had in this field. I have grown to love all the shows he emceed on and ones where he was a regular panel guest as well. I thank you for this site. I was really happy to find it. I will put it on my favorites list and continue to browse it for updates. My other interests are:
Music (Heavy Metal mostly but a lot of other types of music as well)
Watching all sports
Movies and:
Watching realistic TV shows such as:
20/20
Dateline
America's Most Wanted
COPS
Trauma: Life In The ER
Thank You,
Tammey Brown

I recall that the NY-based "Price Is Right" was one of the first daily colorcasts on NBC. Seeing it in person with my parents was a real treat, although those massive RCA color cameras pretty much blocked any view of the stage. I do hope that, when he tapes his last "Price" episode, the great Bob Barker will be gracious enough to mention that dear, gentle man who made the show such a hit the first time
around. This site is a wonderful tribute to a very fondly remembered TV guest in our homes.

Bill Cullen, as the game show host of "Blockbusters" (1980), was my favorite game show of all time because at the ending of the 3rd week of NBC's original broadcasting season of "Blockbusters", I was born in Ft. Worth, TX's Carswell Air Force Base General Hospital. I need to keep "Blockbusters" on Game Show Network weekdays @ 10.00a ET/7.00a PT because "Hollywood Showdown" moves to 8.30a ET/5.30a PT. I saw Bill Cullen dead at 70 on July 7, 1990 in Los Angeles, CA because of his lung cancer.

This is a wonderful website. I am glad someone has taken the time to pay tribute to the greatest game show host of all time. Bill Cullen came across as a warm human being that I would have loved to have met. He wasn't the stereotypical host, i.e: loud, brash, obnoxious, That is why he had success for over forty years. I miss him to this day.
