Had been watching the show since I was a Kid and got real nice when my Mother was on it for 5 days in the daytime show in 1957. My Parents went to watch a show and Mother got picked for the next day show. WOW ! The Redwood Furniture she won fell apart after 50 years in the weather , what a gyp that was ! LOL

Although I was only 9 when Bill passed away, I have very fond memories of him when I watched Hot Potato. May God bless him and keep him.

I forgot to add this before when I was on, but I believe Bill Cullen was the best of the best when it comes to game show hosts. I was surprised that the website didn't mention another one of Bill Cullen's game shows from the 1980's, "Blockbusters". I think it's pretty good and it's still being shown on GSN on a daily basis.

great site.. saw bill cullen on a rerun of "the name's the same" last night on GSN, you should add it to his show appearances! the contestant's name was bill cullen as well but bill didn't guess it - another panelist did. it also featured joan alexander and was hosted by robert q. lewis and from what I can gather was originally aired in 1951 =)

I REMEMBER BILL CULLEN FROM THE EARLY PRICE IS RIGHT IN THE 1960'S. HE WAS THE REAL HOST OF THIS GREAT GAME-NOT BOB BARKER WHO IS SO SELF CENTERED AND PLAYING AROUND WITH YOUNG GIRLS! BILL WAS ALWAYS THE GENTLEMAN AND HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTON!!!!!!!

I always liked Bill Cullen. He was always smiling, good natured and had a great sense of humor. He just seemed down to earth and easy going. He was a friend we all looked forward to inviting into our livingrooms.
