Although he made game shows much more fun than they are today, I enjoyed him in radio's "The Adventures of Superman" serials. Stan Freberg of "When Radio Was" often introduces the serials by describing how Bill would use his normal voice for Clark Kent and then lower it an octave when playing the man of steel. These were Bill's best radio performances. Truely classic radio and timeless Bill Cullen!

This guy had such a great dry wit - I think that's the most treasured memory I have of him, and of those with whom he shared the stage on various panel shows. I came across this page because as a seller on ebay , oldoldstuff4afirefly, I found the Fridgidair ad you show on your page of Cullen ephemeral items. This is one of the best fan sites I have ever seen devoted to a TV star of the past. GREAT job. Thanks!

I wrote some comments back in 2000, but a revisit to this wonderful site and reading all the many memories got me a little teary eyed and nostalgic for this wonderful man. When you considered the moronic game show hosts we have today, most of them with blow dried hair and blow dried brains, it really makes you appreciate what a consummate class act Bill Cullen was. As an emcee, a panelist, or a celebrity partner he truly was the one every host should not only strive to at least come close to emulating but also take lessons from. I can't think of an instance where I felt any sort of discomfort watching a show with Bill Cullen in it. What passes for "game shows" these days makes we wish I was born when manners and politeness and intelligence mattered. I didn't realize how much I missed Bill Cullen until I revisited this site and read the comments from so many of his fans. He truly was a treasure. I wonder if the Board of Governors at the Emmys or the Television Hall of Fame have thought of including Bill Cullen in their pantheon of greats. If anyone truly deserves that honor, it's Bill Cullen hands down!

I can't believe how long Bill has been gone,
whenI see him on GSN he still seems so real.
He was always jolly and enjoyed the
questions and answers as much as the
contestants. He was truly missed
