I have continued to wedge information into TV Tome regarding "Hot Potato." This is the opening and closing of a submission I gave tonight to TV Tome's Hot Potato guide:
Meet these men; they're three of a kind.
BARRY: "Hi, I'm Jack Barry."
ENRIGHT: "I'm Dan Enright."
CULLEN: "I'm Bill Cullen, and we're…"
ALL: "Dead game show kingpins!"
And they were the energies behind Hot Potato, the last-ever game show co-produced by Jack Barry.
…
TV Tome wishes to extend a big thank-you to David Schwartz at GSN for providing much-needed broadcast information on the Celebrity Hot Potato episodes. The Hot Potato Episode List is correct and complete. Now it's up to you, the contributors, to confirm the questions that were asked in each show and contribute them.
P.S. There are people out there looking for the original "Barry & Enright Productions" tag from the old Hot Potato. GSN shaved this announcement whenever they aired the program, replacing it with the contemporary Columbia-Tristar Television Distributors closing ID. If you have a copy of Hot Potato as seen on NBC, the network formerly known as CBN, or USA, please email BobOblong33@yahoo.com to discuss some form of sharing/acquisition. Be sure to use "Hot Potato is a Barry & Enright Production" as the title of said email.
That request certainly goes to anyone who has contributed to The Bill Cullen Fan Page.
BTW, I don't know why this hasn't shown up on "Bill Says the Darndest Things," but this is what I remember from my last viewing of "Blockbusters" on GSN. The contestants failed to guess what P were Edward Teach and two other names. Bill, true to his roots, said they were Pirates. He then claimed, true to his roots, that one was an infielder, one was an outfielder, and another played the organ at Forbes Field. Then he couldn't wipe the smile off his face.

anyone have memories of Bill working with Johnny Carson. I know Johnny guested on IGAS and TTTT in the 50's and early 60's, but I have no record of whether the pair worked together outside of the appearances on IGAS. I recall once on a game show host special week of shows on Card Sharks, the group was talking about working next door to the Tonight Show set. Bill quipped, let's see if Johnny will come over and play a game or two.

This was a post I wanted to leave on The Bob Stewart Fan Page (BSFP), but the message center was in disarray. Let me ask you the following, then:
I have been pouring info on Bob Stewart shows to a different site called TV Tome. BSFP and others have detailed the guests on programs such as "Chain Reaction," "Go" and "The $50,000 Pyramid." (In particular, I love that last one.)
What neither yours nor any other site points out, though, are the gaps some NBC game shows would have to get hit on the head with due to specials or what-not. In the case of "Go," a web page tells us what celebrities appeared in each of the sixteen weeks, but does not factor in planned breaks due to the Lions' Thanksgiving Day Game or the 1984 Rose Bowl.
I had thought Bill Cullen's "Chain Reaction" had no gaps, since it began after USC's victory in the 1980 Rose Bowl and ended before Wimbledon. But on February 12, I got a letter from a representative at GSN, responding to a request I had put in a month before. The GSN rep said there were 114 "Chain Reaction" broadcasts. The response confirmed no pre-planned break in the shows had occurred prior to Geoff Edwards' sub-hosting the week of April 7, 1980. That still leaves nine and a half weeks not accounted for. (GSN does not even have the files for Shows #69-78--thank God for the Bill Cullen Fan Page.)
If possible, see what you can rummage through concerning the run of the original "Chain Reaction." Request that you scour the newspapers of January 14-June 20, 1980. They printed daytime TV listings in the papers back then.
I await your return with a reserved smile.

One of my earliest memories is staying at my grandmother's during the day. Everything came to a standstill when The Price Is Right came on. I remember sitting on the floor and watching Bill tell the panelists about the items up for bid. I'll bet I was the only 4 year old who could guess the price of the newest Maytags on the market! Since then I've watched Mr. Cullen on many a show. Thanks for the memories Mr. Cullen!!!
