Bill Cullen was so successful as the host of so many great game shows because he respected each and every contestant and his audience. When you watch a show hosted by Bill, you get a sense of his "feel-good" personality. These were shows you could watch alone and play or watch with your kids, friends and family. Currently, in 2004, I am hard-pressed to find shows that don't have people fighting (Jerry Springer Show), women continually screaming unneccessarily and high-pitched frightening shrieks (Oprah), silly reality shows (The Bachelorette), stupid talk shows (Maury), and other ridiculous, wasteful garbage. I know many people share my view on this. The shows I named above really insult the intelligence of the TV audience and its participants. The anger and tension on these shows is appalling and the only way to get them off the air is to stop watching them. Bill Cullen's shows recall a time when the world was a happier place to be in. He inspired me to try out for The $100,000 Pyramid in the mid 80's and go on the show and win over $17,000! Thinking back to which shows were my favorite was a difficult task because he hosted so many great shows. Everything he touched turned to gold. There are many lessons we can learn from this gentle, well-mannered man. I'm thankful for the many great hours of TV he provided while he graced our world. God Bless Bill, his family and his many fans.

I remember William Laurence Cullen. He is a nice man, and he went Home to be with the Lord on July 7, 1990. I watched a few shows with him, like Child's Play and Hot Potato.

I really enjoyed Bill, he brought me a good feeling inside. I grew up with very thick glasses, mine were convex though, and seeing Bill as a successful man with a very cool job gave me confidence. Bill helped me deal with being a kid with poor eyesight. I am now in a very cool job doing something only sighted people can do, I am a commercial artist, a cartoonist and a computer graphic artist and loving it. Thanks Bill for helping me out.
