I unfortunatly was too young to actually see Bill at work, but watching GSN from its early days I have got to see a lot of Bill's work and enjoyed watching any show he hosted. Bill made the shows watchable no matter if it was a bomb of a game show. Bill is truly one of TV's greatest legends, legends never die.
KIDS PLEASE DON'T SMOKE.

I loved watching Bill Cullen on Eye - Guess as a kid. It seems I saw a lot of episodes, so I guess I didn't go to school much (maybe I just watched everyday in the summertime.) I also received the Eye - Guess game for X-Mas when I was 9 in 1967. I'll always remember the box --with Bill touching his black-frame glasses (I looked like when I was that age.) I remember actually taping one episode on a reel-to-reel tape recorder --- the announcer said, "and here's your host, Bill Cullen!", and Bill said, "Hi there, i'm your host!" Pleasant memories for sure

As a 3-year-old boy in the 1960's, Bill Cullen was the first TV personality I could recognize. When he came on, I would not miss him.
Bill would always look a chance to get in a few laughs, but he would never embarrass a contestant for a laugh.
He let the show revolve around the contestants, and not around him.
