I am sad that Bill is no longer with us and watch those wonderful shows as repeats such as Tattletales with his wife Ann. I would like to know what it was that affected his legs and inability to walk without aid. Could someone tell me about that.

I was a PRIZE coordinator working for NBC-TV in Burbank in 1981-82 and went to most of the tapings. I was able to speak with Bill on a couple of occasions and I echo the sentiments of what a wonderful gentlemen he was. ZERO EGO!

Why Winning Streak? Simply because I won $4,000 on it in August 1974. I had a great time during the contestant try-outs and remember the folks you see playing the game on that one episode aired over GSN from time to time. I think I might even have some audio(cassette tape) and video(super8 film) of my appearance(lasted 3 broadcast days). These may be the only other recordings of the show outside of the Aug. 9 episode. Anyway, this is agreat site which I'll definitely bookmark.

Wow!
A great, great website for the best gameshow host. Bill Cullen was the standard upon which we judge others in the same arena.
He was one of a handful that motivated me to seek a career in broadcasting. There he was, obviously having a ball, probably making a mint, and making it all seem so easy. I wanted to do that!
Well, few do. Not to the level of a Bill Cullen. I hope this website will remind people just how much fun tv could be in those days.

I remember back in the year 1980 when was the only gameshow to emcee 3
different gameshow that aired on NBC were Password Plus, Blockbusters, and
Chain Reaction and that why i feel that Bill Cullen should be known as Mr. Gameshow

In about 1978 plus or minus, Peter Marshall, long time host of the Hollywood Squares was interviewed. He was asked who was the best Game Show M.C. he knew. He said, without question it was Bill Cullen. He said, "He has kept more shows on the air that never deserved to be on in the first place!" Quite an acollade from a successful peer.
