My Harper tree in VA starts with Patrick Harper landing in Gloucester Co.,VA in 1653. Patrick had 1 son, George in Gloucester & George married Martha?(Wynne??) The 2 sons from this union were 1-JOSEPH & 2-WILLIAM. You have done a tremendous amount of hard work to flesh out William's lineage. I am from Joseph's (Wm's brother)lineage--- directly. Because of my brother's death in 1/2009, I promised him I would carry on with his fondness for our ancestry & while my dad's still hanging in there, I wish to complete (if possible) the remaining blanks. The Colege of WM.& Mary's library has all of our branches,that have been researched & printed. Looking at the WIATT family it goes back to the first gov. of VA, the first appointed vicar of Jamestowne Church (Rev. Haute Wiatt)& the notorious Conquest Wiatt who lived up to his name. Your Wiliam married into this family which goes back to Boxley, Eng. I would like to find George & Patrick Harper's marriages & I know that Patrick departed from No. Ire. from early immigrations. But I would like to find out where in Scotland the Harper's came from, because next year, God willing, I will take my parent's to England where he was stationed with the Royal Air Force while he was with the USArmy Air Corp in WWII. Maybe he will finally speak about his war time horrors of being shot down 2-3x over Europe. Getting back to being direct cousins 8x removed; I am looking at Aunt Noonie's DAR notations,Launa Pearl Harper m. to Uncle Spurgeon Williams--- would you be the granddaughter of Launa & Dr.Charles Spurgeon Williams? Are you Patricia Carolyn Harper & when every summer we visited GA , my family went to the lakefront cottage, & we never met. How weird is that! The only deviation in our lineage is my grandfather, James Lafayette Harper,Sr. was from Anselm Lee Harper's III, first wife Martha Americus Malcolm Harper,their last son, William Malcolm Harper & after her death he married his sister-in-law, (my greatgrandfather's aunt)Susan Americus Malcolm Butler(widowed)& Launa & her siblings soon followed. My Harper line goes back to John Harper, who was in Muhlenburg Co. KY and then on to Buncombe Co. NC. His son, Lott Harper was born about 1776, I think, in NC. Researching Harpers in GA Counties:Fannin, Union, Murray. NC Counties: Buncombe, Macon, Cherokee. TN: Polk.

trying making connections with Nancy Ann Ingram -- daughter of one of the Ingrams in Hancock Co about 1800 or so. Good info on William Ingram. Found info in the Hancock County Court Records if you are interested.
