I want to be just like her" A truly remarkable story and the story of the efforts to preserve and restore the Village are also inspirational. It is also the story of so many artists, opposed by narrow minded people who fail to understand what they are opposing.

I have heard about this story from a very close part of it. And all I can say is, that is not what all it seems to be. But I am glad to see that it has been made a national monument.

I'm glad to see that the website is still up and running, and that - by some of the guestbook entries, people are still coming to see Bottle Village. I grew up in Simi, and my grandma lived just down the street from Grandma Prisby. I can clearly remember seeing Grandma Prisby going to and from the dump to gather materials for her constructions. I only wish I could afford to donate to the efforts to preserve her wonderful work.

I have fond memories of bottle village: my family moved to Simi Valley, then Santa Susana, in 1959 and it was an attraction then. I walked by bottle village every day that I went to high school.

My husband grew up in Simi and remembered Grandma. She took him on tours and remembers taking pictures with his box camera. We hope is can continue. If only I could win the lottery!
