I admire your site; I am doing research on the James Brown (1792 - 1858)Family and descendants of Somerset County, MD. In MD, in 1832, a census of all coloured
was taken to see who wanted to go to Liberia; it lists all, men, women and children and their ages. I have a full
copy of that list for Somerset County, MD; interested contact me by E-mail. I
can not imagine that Md. was the only State that did that census; check in your state. In my instance the list was
in the Land Records of that county. Any
with BROWN or GAINES roots in Somerset/ Wicomico,County,Md please contact me.

My great great great grandparents on my grandfather's mother sides were Browns. I presently have other Brown relatives living in North Carolina. My grandparents were from Georgia, but they moved to North Carolina when my mother was very young. My grandparents were Georgia Jefferson Fuller and Nora "Snow" King Fuller from Hartwell, GA.
