Thank you for your website, I am a 27 year mother of two. I have a six year old son currently in hockey. The reason why I visited your website is because I am doing a research paper on Sheldon and I required information about him, thankyou for the insite about the sexual abuse. I just watched the lifetime movie "In The Best Interest Of The Child" it was so heart warming. I am a incest victim by my father and last year my 16 year old nephew we found out was sexually molesting my 8 year old daughter one can't imagine the pain felt like it was happening all over again the bad memories came back to haunt me so now it has been a gradual process one day at a time of healing the only difference between me and my daughter is the truth never came out about my father think it eases the pain when it does at any rate with gods help I have survived been there for my daughter.

Thankyou for such a wonderful and informative site there are so many untold or forgotten stories that many never have a chance to read or to learn by them. I wish we had no need for sites about abuse but the fact is we need more sites out there so that eyes will open and we can stop the abuse. god bless you

Dear Sheldon: I hope that some time you will have a chance to read this. I saw your story on CTV and was moved deeply-As a female victim of incest by my father, it brought to the surface many memories and feelings that I had rather kept buried. Having come out and taken my father to court over 10 years ago now, I still deal with the after effects of what he has done. Just recently, my husband's nephew disclosed to us that he was sexually abused by his stepfather for years. He played for a Junior A team here in Barrie and then went down to Pennsylvania on a sholarship-he has finished his education but is now back here and is currently hospitalized from all of the mental anguish he suffers. Next to God, hockey is his life and he still has aspirations to play semi-pro. If there are any words of encouragement or sources that you may be aware of for him to get help, could you please email me back if you get a chance-I'm sure you are inundated with these requests regurarly, but I know that coming from someone who has been there and the fact that you play hockey may offer some encouragement to my husband's nephew that I could pass along until he is well enough to be released and maybe connect with this site himself. Thankyou so much for your story, you are an inspiration and have touched more lives and helped more people than you probably know. I remember when you stopped here in Barrie when you were raising money across Canada.
