he was a PFC in the 5th Marines 1st Mar Div, buried in Pinelawn Cementary on Long Island, New York. How do I find out the information? My mom has been keeping his grave marker clean and prestine. Comments: Looking for info on a buddy of
my dads who trained at Naval Hospital
San Diego as Corpsman with USN from June
to September 1944, also graduated USN
Boot Camp San Diego May 27, 1944,
Company 44-290. His name: Walter Clyde
Smith, went by "Clyde". Never heard from
after war. From Texarkana (Texas or
Arkansas). He went to Henderson College
in Arkadelphia, AR from 42-44. Attended
1st Baptist.
Anyone that might have the time and
resources to help me determine what
happened to him, or if he is still
alive, will be greatly appreciated. 3
Years of looking, and brick walls. Can
